Currently, its operating temperature is below 200℃, making it ideal for heat exchange in a wide variety of highly corrosive media, such as cooling or heating sulfuric acid, highly corrosive chloride solutions, acetic acid, and caustic alkali media. It’s particularly well-suited for applications requiring anti-fouling heating, serving as an excellent choice for rust prevention and scale inhibition. Teflon heaters are now available in two main types: shell-and-tube heaters and tube-bundle heaters. The core of these heaters consists of a bundle of thin-walled polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) heat-exchange tubes with small diameters. Of course, it’s important to note that there are many commonly used tube specifications today, with outer diameters ranging from 3 to 6 millimeters and wall thicknesses from 0.3 to 0.6 millimeters. Each tube bundle contains between 60 and 5,000 tubes, and the ends of the tubes are separated by PTFE tape. The tube bundles are inserted into rings and then welded together to form a solid honeycomb-shaped tube sheet. Other components of Teflon heaters are similar to those found in standard shell-and-tube heaters as well as immersion heaters that use metal tubes as heat-transfer elements.
